This thesis overstepped the distinction of love stories between refinement and popularity, and chose an especial visual angle of contemporary female writers. After had analyzed and studied a great deal of female writers?social love stories, it caine to the conclusion that the characteristics of these novels could be reduced to three. First, the theme of these social love stories was transformed love is supreme?into cannot help but withdraw? Second, these novels had a main tendency to separation with sex and love. Third, these love stories showed the city complex that most female writers possessed.As female writers expressed a special aesthetic style in their novels, this thesis also analyzed these social love stories from the feminism angle, and revealed the subversion of women themselves behind the feminism. Therefore, how to understand feminism and express femininity correctly became an urgent problem.For this reason, the thesis advanced a tentative idea for social love stories.
