On The Construction Of Network Ethics

With the development of Internet, a virtual society, a fairly new life style of human society based on the net, has been on the horizon. Therefore, it is more and more urgent and significant to construct netethics in order to cope with various ethical problems emerging in this entirely new society .The author of this thesis makes great attempts to promote the construction of netethics, trying to improve the healthy and orderly development of the net.The necessity of netethics construction can be justified on the grounds of ethical problems, moral advancement, cultural conflicts and further developments of the virtual society, etc. Moreover, four major principles of constructing netethics are provided in this essay in the light of the analysis of the net subject. They are the principle of freedom, the principle of the whole people, the principle of universality and the principle of compatibility. At the same time, the idea of the net subject's ethical rights and obligations as well as their ethical qualities is expressed for the first time. Besides, the author explores the characteristics of netethics and its ralationship with real ethics and points out that, with the characteristics of openness, independence and pluralism, netethics are the natural and inevitable results of social development and, in fact, it is a kind of promotion of real ethics.Finally, the author deals with the four practical approaches of netethics: how to equip the juvenile with good education of netethics, how to create a good atmosphere of social ethics, how to solidify self-discipline and social consensus supervision, and how to accelerate the process of legislation.
