The poems and Ci-verses by Wen Tingyun expressed same emotional implication, but the aesthetic perceptions in them were different. As a research centered on his writings, the article incline to make people know the concept of poem form and Ci-verses form of the men of letters in the late Tang Dynasty.In the late Tang Dynasty that Wen Tingyun lived, both the life conditions and people' mentality changed in the tense situation. So the emotional implication of the literary men changed. The late Tang poetic practice, represented by Wen Tingyun and Li Shangyin, revealed the tendency from open to enclosed and from elegant to common. The features of poem were same to Ci-verses. But the aesthetic concepts were different. The men of letters in the late Tang Dynasty thought highly of poem and took Ci-verses as an entertainment. This concept was apparent in the writings by Wen Tingyun.Wen Tingyun used to describe a lot of magnificent images objectly. The imagery in his poems was flash and fantastic while it was static and realistic in his Ci-verses. The artistic conception of poem and Ci-verses by Wen was based on the gentle and lovely southern landscape. Furthermore, he created the new style of Ci-verses based on the Yuefu poem. The artistic conception of his poem was open while it was implicit in his Ci-verses.The poems and Ci-verses by Wen tingyun showed similar imagery and artistic conception because he advocated objectivism and aestheticism. But he also had a conscious idea on poem and Ci-verses, which led to his aesthetic pursue for the two styles - the characters of being magnificent and meaningful for poem and of being tender-feeling and slender-touching for Ci-verses.
