| The meaning of The Book of Songs has undergone the course from loss to reconstruction twice. The first course of it is due to the collecting, clearing up, editing and teaching of poets, which is in the charge of Official Professional Musician in Zhou Dynasty. The second course of it is due to Confucian scholars' impartation and explanation of The Book of Songs. The rise and decline of the culture of Zhou Dynasty can explain the both courses. The Book of Songs' s meaning is reconstructed and redefined in Han Dynasty, and from the Hermeneutics view, the hermeneutic method in Maoxu is quite perfect. Maoshi deems that The Book of Songs is a kind of history narrative. Its hermeneutic method has both inherent and historical demands, and is influenced by the inner traits of the text, the narrative superiority of Chinese character, the narrative knowledge, the Historiographer Culture and its way of reading. It' s more than the continuator of the explanations of The Book of Songs in pre-Qin Dynasty and the product of "the intensional ethic" in the culture of Han Dynasty. The similarities and dissimilarities between Zhengjian and Maoshi embody the differences between Sanjiashi and Maoshi in Guwenjingxue (the Study of Confucian classics written by ancient Chinese prose). Maoshi is regarded as Guwenjingxue mainly because its hermeneutic method agrees with the Confucioiis history-narritive idea in pre-Qin dynasty, but not because of its letterform and its citation from history books in pre-Qin. Just for this reason, it is believed to be written by Zixia and belong to Guwenjingxue. |
