Through the research on Chang Eileen's works, the writer has discovered two deficiencies in the researches engaged so far :l.lack of explicit understanding and comments on the connection of the author's creative ideas with the features of the novels themselves, so not finding a basic view which is able to account of corresponding relations and common characteristics between the author and her works.2 not opening out the deep cause of great interests in Chang's and its predictive effect of her works to the development of society and literature tendency. This article , studied the criticism on the ((The Great World)) in 1944 by FuLei who attempted to make comparatively complete comments on Chang's works, is aimed at analyzing the different criticism in view of sex and age so as to go out of the traditional misconception of the past researches on Chang's works.To comprehend the purpose of her literature creation completely and accurately by connecting the themes and literature technique used; to trace to the origin of postmodernism in her concepts and explore her views of postmodernism by her female visual angle with the help of relating the feminine features of modern society and literature and the outcomes of the researches on postmodernism, feminism and feminist care ethics as well in order to reappreciate the significance and value of the works on purpose to master the basic characteristics of modern society and future tendency of literature development.
