After more than a hundred years' development, the study of oracle bones and shells has improved to a rather high level. Since nowadays both categorization and periodization of oracle inscriptions have achieved breakthroughs, it is necessary to assimilate the new achievements of study, to review the various kinds of inscription and to conduct systematic and comprehensive arrangement and research according to category and group. Therefore we want to do some work in this field by studying the Shi (?) -group oracle bones and shells.Considering that this study relies much on the exhaustiveness and accuracy of documents, we got altogether 49 groups of oracle bones and shells by rejoining 7 groups ourselves in addition to the newly discovered 42 groups by other experts in Jiaguwen Heji 甲骨文合集. We also mentioned 7 inappropriate rejoins about the Shi(?) -group in Heji and 6 in Jiagwven Heji Supplement 甲骨文合集补编 in order to remind the users of them. Moreover, we made tables for 1 group of repetition about Shi(?) -group in Heji as well as 3 in its supplement in addition to the 44 groups in Heji and 43 groups in the supplement discovered by other experts. There are shortcomings in the notes of newly published Supplement to which this paper also tries to correct the Shife -group part. The Shife -group part categorized in Heji is mixed with the inscription of other groups. We pointed out that the two pieces 19803rd and 19849th are actually the same kind with the newly unearthed oracle bones in Ash-pit H3 at Huayuanzhuang Locus East. They are inscriptions of H3 "Zi 子", but not of the "king 王". We hope to provide a documentary basis for the study of oracle bones through the above corrections and supplements.Based on these materials, we are here to choose two topics for discussion, that is, the exhaustive research toward theso-called "月比斗" or "夕从斗" inscriptions of category A in the Shi(?) -group smaller-character oracleinscription and the sacrificial inscriptions of greater-character one. Then we come to the first conclusion that these are inscriptions of divining conditions of night and the letter in front of "Dou 斗" should be read as "Cong 从". It is not reliable to think that the letter "Xi 夕"in inscription can be used as the names of sacrificial ceremony. Second, we get a general understanding of the conditions to the sacrificial oracle inscriptions of greater-character through the research of them.Reliability of character study must be guaranteed in the process of consulting documents of oracle bones and shells. We also write the section A Critical Study of "兄庚" to rectify the idea of addressing "兄庚" from the philological perspective.
