Cellini-the greatest goldsmith and one of the main sculptures of the 16thcentury. He is seeking his ideals all his life. These ideals include the freedom of artistic creation, giving full play to his ability, the equal status like his contemporaries, the approval of the 16th century society. Cellini, awaken goldsmith, using his courage and ambition, challenges the common views and authorities. This thesis tries to look closely at Cellini's artistic creation and ideals, analyzes how he obtains certain freedom of artistic creation, how he meets the demands of the patrons, and meanwhile gives full play to his personality in artistic creation. And finally he achieves his goal by unremitting efforts.
