| This disertation sudies the spatial narration of Shui-hu Zhuan which is divided into three levels: hidden-mysterious space,dominate-realistic space ,fictitious-shuchang space . The time factor in spatial narration,the way of shift between them,and the narrative rhythm are aiso discussed.Hidden-mysterious SpaceIn this section,two aspects are discussed. Firstly, the construction of the hidden-mysterious space .It is refers to a super-nature space above and controlling the dominant-realistic space.It decides the direction of dominant-realistic space.Secondly, the functions of the hidden-mysterious space . It acts captain in the structure .It hints the fate of the characters. And it is the cue in the development of affairs.Dominant-realistic SpaceIn this section,three aspects are discussed. Firstly, the goverment space,in which the total governers are decadent. It indicates the reasons of the uprising. Secondly,diffrent moving spaces which manifest the process of the heroes'going to liang-shan. Thirdly,liang-shan space. The landform as describled in Shui-hu Zhuan is suitble for the heroes to get together. And liang-shan space experiences forming,development and failure.Fictitious-shuchang SpaceIn this section, two aspects are discussed. Firstly, the forming of fictitious-shuchang space. The teller' tone is used to make shu-chang ambience .It forms fictitious-shuchang space. Secondly,its functions.They are manifested as disclosing the suspense,referring background material ,and foretelling the story,etc.Time Factor, Space Shift,Narrative RhythmNarrative time in Shui-hu Zhuan is a whole conception. It has veracity and inkling.Its velocity of flow manifests the combination of swiftness and tardiness. Narrative spaces shift through different articulatory points.Continuous segments make narrative rhythm. |
