Ambiguous Female Writing - An Interpretation Of Women Writers Of The 1970s Creation

The novels of the female writers bora in 1970's ( called "70's" for short ) is an important part in the female writing in the 20th century. "70's" once shocked the contemporary writer circles in china, and received much contrary evaluation. In the thesis, "70's" and the novels of them are the targets of criticism, and the female writing in china in 1990's is the background. The main idea of the thesis is: "ambiguity" is the basic stand of the novels of "70's", and also is the real spirit condition of "70's".The novels of "70's" have some more direct expression and more radical stand about "passion". In their novels, they are enamored with the female body that refers to the physical body and the body enjoying sex and matter fully. They think that gaining the total satisfaction of sex and matter is the final aim of the life. In their novels, they change the traditional narrating way in some level and present a new living way. And the idea putting an emphasis on "passion" is contrary to the present social morality in which spirit / reason is higher than matter / perception.On the other hand, the idea putting an emphasis on "passion" is faced with the danger of being rewritten. In the present social morality, female is "seen" by male. When the body and the mind of female are exposed totally to the male sight, the destruction of "passion" to the present social morality may be changed to catering for the male taste.And when "70 's " try to identify the possession of sex and wealth with the value of their being, they find they maybe fail in it. They cannot escape from the sense of loneliness because they are faced with the new barrier of exchanging the affection with the opposite sex when they could make love with any affection. Though they are wealthy, they also cannot get rid of the nothingness because they haven't established a new value system after the escape from the present social morality.The novels of "70's" are valuable because of the expression of the real condition in their mind, but at the price of ending the creation of "70's".
