Learning disabilities (LD) is a general term that refers to a heterogeneous group of disorders by significant difficulties in the acquisition and use of some abilities. These disorders are intrinsic to the individual, presumed to be due to central nervous system dysfunction and may occur across the life span. Students with LD can't achieve what they should do.Learning disabilities and metacognition regulation is a focus in psychology, and the study on metacognition regulation with LD students plays an important role. In this study, we design a questionnaire and experimented in nature to study the metacognitive characters of the students with LD. In the same time, we took a lot of measures to improve these students' metacognitive abilities.A referred sample of 628 students were examined, including 108 with learning disabilities. In the experiment, only 58 received metacognitive training and the other 50 were controlled. There are statistically significant group differences for students with LD versus those ones without LD. That is, the metacognitive abilities of students with LD are significantly lower than that of those ones without LD. And boy students' metacognitive and metacognitive skills are better than girl students'. No statistically significant group differences for students with LD versus those ones without LD emerged after metacognitive training. From this, we can deduce metacognitive training can improve metacognitive abilities of those students with LD, furthermore, help them achieve a better reading score.
