In the spoken language and some literatures of the Modern Chinese, the Verb-copying sentence (SVOVC) is a frequent and special format. Based on the theory of three dimensions grammar, this paper completely analysis the syntax, semantic and pragmatic of the Verb-copying sentence. Based on the concrete contexts, the paper discusses the semantic role, pragmatic function and expression effect of the Verb-copying sentence, and tries to complain them. In the same time, contacting the cognitive and study characteristic, the thesis makes its opinion about the teaching of special sentences in the teaching of Chinese to foreigners.The preface looks back and sums up the research history and achievement of the Verb-copying sentence, and from which the author make a point at the pragmatic function, then put forward the study scope and value of this thesis. The first chapter seeing about the structure characters and types of the syntax and semantic of the Verb-copying sentence. This chapter particularly depicts the form characters of the Verb-copying sentence, and classify the Verb-copying sentence from three angles. Based on the semantic structure and character, this chapter classify Verb-copying sentence to three main types with seven hypo-types. Using the valence grammar theory, this chapter also studies the verb's valence characters and types in the Verb-copying sentence.The second chapter is the chief of the thesis. Statisticing a great deal of language materials, comparing to the correlative sentences, this chapter studies and analysis the pragmatic function and context function. The author points that roundly narrating the whole act/action processing and "esults in communication is the main function of the Verb-copying sentence. When speaking Verb-copying sentence the addressor has his owner mentality and emotion about what he is speaking, and expects the hearer will comprehend the whole thing and will be communicated by his addressing. The third chapter researches the studying and using of the Verb-copying sentence in the teaching of Chinese to foreigners. This chapter analyses the using and error characters of the foreigners who are in different degree, and discusses the teaching methods of the Verb-copying sentence.
