WangYun, born in the reign of Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty, was one of the four master researchers of Shuo Wen, and a famous philologist. By the research of Shuo Wen. WangYun elaborated his philological ideology. His research was different from other contemporary researchers, and opened a new road for himself, he had conducted the pure Chinese character study research, namely had conducted the research emphatically in the explanation meaning foundation to the Chinese character physique. WangYun's influential works mainly included Shuo Wen Shi Li, Shuo Wen Ju Dou and Wen Zi Meng Qiu. Shuo Wen Shi Li mainly was elaborated "liushu" and the rule, the style of Shuo Wen. Shuo Wen Ju Dou was writed, based on the Duan Yucai's Shuo Wen Jie Zi Zhu and the GuiFu's Shuo Wen Yi Zheng, regarding the different professional advice between the two men, WangYun explained own opinions. Wen Zi Meng Qiu. Was taken Shuo Wen as a background, from xiangxing zhishi huiyi xingsheng four aspects analyzed the configuration rule of the Chinese character. Following the development of philology, more and more people attached importance to WangYun. However, there have been a few papers that dissertate his philological achievements, also mainly pay attention to Shuo Wen Shi Li this works. Therefore, Taking Shuo Wen Shi Li, Shuo Wen Ju Dou and Wen Zi Meng Qiu as material, this paper plans to elaborate WangYun's achievements of his philological research by using developmental standing points and from the synchronic and diachronic perspectives. The purpose of my writing this paper is to give the status which WangYun should have in the Chinese philology history and the objective appraisal for WangYun.This article mainly divides into four major parts:The first part is introduction, which introduces WangYun's life, achivements and status of Shuo Wen Shi Li, Shuo Wen Ju Dou and Wen Zi Meng Qiu. This part also highlights paper's motivation and principles.The second part introduces his advanced philological viewpoints, and elaborates his five advanced opinions, which are still very influential in the nowadays-philological research.
