Hayao Miyazaki Animated Film Study

The animation of Japan is popular not only in Asia but also all over the world. As the famous animator in Japan, Hayao Miyazaki has an important seat in the Japanese animated cartoon history, even the whole world animation history, which inherited the cartoon style from Tezuka Osamu that another great animator in Japan, and there are more modern breath and meaning in Hayao Miyazaki's animation. He makes his cartoon own the characteristic of the Japanese nation and humanism color, and shows his own "Poetic sentiment and Philosophy" thoughts about life, survival, environment and dreams through the cartoon. In the production, he pays enough attention to the social actuality, and initiates a new trend in Japanese animation.This article intends to make a comprehensive view of Hayao Miyazaki's animation, and hereinafter is the structure of the article: the first chapter focuses on the contributing factor about his cartoon, points out that his personal experience, national culture and social reality play an important part in the course of formation; the second chapter discusses on the topic of Hayao Miyazaki's animation from four aspects: survival and freedom, loss and search, solitude and rescue, purity and re-generation; the third chapter puts emphasis on the aesthetic characteristic of his cartoon movies through three facets: subject matter, figure and means of communication in art; the forth chapter analyzes the effect of the audience when they enjoy the cartoon movies, then we can see there is a sort of emotional spirit which always penetrates into his animation. Finally, in the epilogue I narrate the sentiment of Hayao Miyazaki himself about the animation.
