As beinglike photos apparently, realist painting meets people's conventional visual aestheticrequirementsFrom the beginning of the 20th century, the West has experienced Animalism,Cubism, Futurism, and Superioritism, gradually diverting to the exploration of the artself-disciplined value and the extreme forms pursuit from the traditional naturalismconcepts and copying natural approach, eventually completely abandon the physicalimage factors and move towards a complete abstract way. As the tediousness arisingfrom full swing in the abstract art of abstract forms, some artists began painting in theexploration of new forms, and they turn back to physical images and realist.Meanwhile many western painting artists do not go along the abstract track, butpersist in an exploration in the field of physical images. Despite Western paintingabstract still occupies a very important position in the current contemporary painting, the physical images painting has gradually established its position in art history in the20th century after the 1970s or the 1980s.In such a development as physical imagesart, contemporary West realist painting embodies the features that return to the realist, the images, the classical forms and the reality themes, but this is not a return to theoriginal copy traditional realist painting. Art concepts changes bring thereconstruction of form language to contemporary Western realist painting and thusmake it to a certain extent different from the traditional Western realist painting. The differences between contemporary Western realist painting and traditionalWestern painting are referred to those being drawn from the similarities between them, that is, in most aspects of both are the same, only a small part of the differences, and itis this small fraction of the different embodies the unique contemporary aesthetic valueof contemporary Western realist painting.Through comparative analysis, apparently, contemporary Western realist paintinghas many of the same factors with the traditional Western realist paintings, the samefactors accounting for the compared majority (nearly two-thirds). However, contemporary Western realist painting, behind the scenes picture of a natural physicalimage, involves a degree of non-real factors, which mainly demonstrate the conceptschange and form reconstruction. Being concluded from the analysis on them, thenon-real factors account for only a small part (one third). From this perspective, thesimilarities and differences between contemporary Western realist painting andtraditional Western realist paintings, are compared and analyzed in this thesis.Concepts change is manifested as follow: 1. the uncommon emotional factors incontemporary Western realist painting. 2. the real way of the individual existence. 3.the upgrading of realm in contemporary context. 4. the exhibition of choosingmaterials under new concepts. Form reconstruction has two meanings: there-composition and the reorganization of structure. The latter includes thereconstruction of nature structure and picture structure. Form reconstruction ismanifested as follow: 1. the non-authenticity composition of the form reality. 2. thedevelopment of form language as visual images. 3. the art technique of surrealistic andsuper-realist. 4. the "diversion" art technique and the language of absurd reality. 5. thesubjective manipulation to visual elements. 6. Western contemporary realist muralsform.Although the different factors accounts for only a small part, West realistpainting still has the new content and features in the contemporary, and it is absolutelynot a simple repetition of traditional realist painting. Contemporary Western realistpainting, with the features of concepts change and form reconstruction, whose changeof art concepts and reconstruction of form language indicate that realist painting beginto take on a new look, subjects to Western postmodern culture context. It can producenew creative thinking to the painting to discriminate contemporary Western realistpainting from traditional Western realist painting, and thus have a value andsignificance. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | concepts change, form reconstruction, realism contemporary, tradition | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
