On the Chinese ethics history of thought, Xunzi's evil human nature and Hanfei's nature humanity have profound influence. They have their respective understandings to the content of the human nature concept, Xnzi's and Hanfei's human nature has similar logic point of departure, has tremendous difference on the contents. But since then, people at the time of investigating the Hanfei's human nature thought, are always from the Hanfei-the student of Xunzi, thinking that Xunzi claiming the evil human nature. Hanfei also thinks human nature being evil. Hanfei's human nature theory is also defined as the evil human nature. This looks reasonable, getting the approbation of many scholars. But Hanfei's human nature theory thinks that human nature is the human's property of pursuing benefit;in the problem that whether the humanity may be changed, Xunzi claims to reform the human nature with civilization, But Hanfei emphasizes should follow the human nature;on the different utility view caused by different human nature, Xunzi's Utility view of "with the righteousness restraining benefit" expresses his view of valuing function of etiquette and righteousness, embodies Xunzi's evil human nature, but Hanfei's Utility view of "Valuing the benefit despising the righteousness", reflecting Hanfei's viewpoint of thinking pursuing benefit as the person's human's natural character.Xunzi and Hanfei's human nature and their theories of ruling the state — these theories derived from their human nature, also have definite value today. Xunzi's theory of ruling the state- "worshipping ceremony and advocating law" have greatly imitative value to the ruling the state, we should combine " rule the country by law" with "rule the state by virtuous", and we can manage our country well. Hanfei's theory of ruling the state conforming to human nature is deservedto draw lessons from, Admitting the personal legal private interests, stirring up the person's subjective ability, and promoting the social development. His thought founded on the ruling of law has some reasonable contents worthy of drawing to take.
