In the Chinese contemporary literary era, Wang Anyi is a famous writerfor her active writing and deep pondering. She has become eye-catching inthe literary critic circles for his abundant works at different stages, a largevariety of writing styles, profound spiritual exploration and connotation,which offer the readers various reading experiences.According to the present research, most researchers focus on catalogingWang Anyi's works of every stage, or on studying one profile of her writingcontent and styles. While in accordance to her novels and some theoreticalarticles and interviews on her, this paper tries to grasp her thoughts from theview of history, gender and narrative ways of novels as well.This thesis consists of three parts: introduction, body and conclusion.Wang Anyi's trend of thought in literature is presented herein three respectsin the body of the paper.Part One analyses Wang Anyi's conception of history. Based on WangAnyi's novels and theoretical illustration, the paper gives exposition in threeaspects: History being mainly made up of individuals;individuals' gettingexperiences from routine life;grasping human spirit from individual history.Part two deals with Wang Anyi's conception of gender. It's illustrated inthe following four aspects: At first, Wang Anyi presents people withrelationships that are opposite and dependent between feminine andmasculine. Secondary is for loneliness and isolation which cannot be changedby love in life. Last but not least, only when females overthrow their spiritualdependence thoroughly, can they win liberty. Surpassing the ego, Wang Anyireached the cognition on human existence and relationship.Part three mainly expounds Wang Anyi's conception of narration innovels in two aspects: being live and being fictional which can be initiated byeach other;being ideological and being material. A novel includes two parts:ideology and material, of which the evolution is talked about in accordance toher writing career.
