Discussion On Hong Ying's Novels

HongYing is a famous overseas Chinese woman writer. Her creation of fiction that has special style does not only attract many readers, but also bring a controversy to the critics. The papers on HongYing's creation of fiction emphasize on the novels'theme or narration skill and artistic style before. However, the author finds some traits in HongYing's novels which were neglected by the previous critics. For example: the tragedy spirit, the mysticism factor and the post-modernism narration skills etc. Though it has been mentioned repeatingly by the critics before, the feminism thought in Hong Ying's creation of fiction has never been brilliantly and systemically expatiated. Thus, from the four angles, applying comprehensively critical manners, such as, feminism criticism, culture criticism, and social-history criticism etc., the author of the paper tries to deeply study the artistic traits of HongYing's creation of fiction in order to outline the whole feature of it and disclose its literary value and meanings, based on HongYing's some main novels.The main part of this paper includes four chapters. It's dealt with the feminism thoughts in HongYing's creation of fiction in Chapter One. HongYing's works of fiction, especially the series of her novels, are typical feminism texts. From the aspects of the mythology of matriarchy, the collapse of the culture centered by male power and the arising of female consciousness, the author elaborates the feminism thought which consists in her creation of fiction.The second chapter is about the tragedy spirit in HingYing's creation of fiction.
