| The coming of the visual culture era and the innovation of art curriculum both require the art teachers to have research capabilities as stipulated in the new art curriculum. At the same time, the higher art education for teacher-training is faced with the challenges to train the art teachers with research capability. What we should do immediately in the new era is to confront and solve the problems that exist in the higher art education curricula for teacher-training. With the above as the background, the research I have done in this thesis, as the first step in the study of curriculum for training the art teachers with research capabilities, is trying to design an art curriculum that is aimed to train the students to gain the research capabilities. In accordance with the general routine of curriculum design, the thesis includes the two aspects of the curriculum design: theory and methodology, and consists of three chapters. The exordium explains the motives, significances, the main concepts and methods of the research, which is the premise of the thesis. Chapter 1 is the theoretic foundation of the research. Chapter 2, as the methodology of the curriculum design, presents the detailed process of design of folk art curriculum for teaching. Chapter 3 is, with a partial experiment of teaching curriculum and a case study, trying to reach a conclusion to support the successive study. In the conclusion of the thesis, it fully expresses the significance of reference of the research and makes several proposals for coming research on curriculum for teacher-training. The appendix, as the necessary reference of curriculum design, is also an important part of the thesis. This research is aimed at designing a higher art education curriculum for teacher-training, which is for training the art teachers with research capabilities for future, which is based on the folk art teaching. But it is difficult for a master-degree thesis to fulfill its validity and feasibility, so we still need to better the curriculum in the successive study by criticizing and reflecting. |
