Euphemism Of Cognitive Research

Euphemism is a common phenomenon in daily language. It plays a important role in daily communications. Studies about euphemisms are countless, which are mainly carried out from the perspectives of semantics, sociolinguistics, rhetoric, psychology and pragmatics. Comparing with the previous studies, this thesis, from the perspective of cognitive linguistics, analyzes euphemisms systematically. This thesis tries to use the knowledge of cognitive linguistics to analyze the euphemisms and taboos. It mainly applies the theory of category and prototype.
