Declining Period Of The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Rebellion Drop -1866 (may 1860, February),

This article ,based on the different places in which events happened, has described in detail a lot of incidents that some soldiers and generals of the major army surrendered or rebelled during the dying-out stage of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. The writer has paid major attention to the series of surrendering and rebellion happened in Liuhe, Tianchang, Jiangfu and focused on some key persons at that time such as Tongronghai, Gulongxian, Caiyuanlong and Chenbingwen ,which had different reasons for surrendering and rebellion and was quite typical. Besides, the writer has specially analyzed the reasons of surrendering and rebellion and found that army′s corruption is the key factor during the stage of dying-out in the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, which enables us to treat these soldiers and generals objectively and historically and brings us some important and meaningful warnings, enlightenments and lessons. The subject researched in the article is no doubt helpful for us to deepen the research and knowledge about the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom.The article is based on empirical study,theory explanation is only necessary adminicular.the author tries to attain datum as much as he can,especially those original historical datum relating to the subject,such as codified by Chinese first history files center,< Datum Assemble on China Modern History·Taiping Henvenly Kingdom> codified by Ergang Luo and Qingcheng Wang, codified by Taiping Henvenly Kingdom History Laboratory of Nanjing Univercity.Then, the writer has attested that most datum adduced in the article are true according to difference between pile datum and personal diary.Of course,limited by his ability,the writer has absorbed some research result from Taiping Henvenly Kingdom historian including Li Chun. After he has combed carefully these datum and absorbed the research fruit yielded by the former scholars ,the author tries to display the whole process of surrendering and rebellion.At the same time,he has covered some new topics,such as the first ratter,methors of defection,a series of rebellion happened in Liuhe,Tianchang and Jiangpu,process of surrendering and rebellion on the way from Huzhou to Jiangxi Province,and so on. Acording to these basic history facts,the writer has discussed those reasons caused to surrendering and rebellion.All of these reasons,he thinks one is most important,that is corruption.
