The issue of the relationship between reason and desire is much valued by both Chinese and Western ethics experts. Either in China or in western countries, the discussion about reason and desire and their relationship serves as the key to understanding Chinese and Western ethics notions, as well as Chinese and Western cultures. The paper adopts the method of contrast to explain and discuss Chinese and Western ethics notions, trying to arrange and analyze Chinese and Western ethics notions, unearthing Chinese and Western ethics connotations and its modern value, discussing the advantages and disadvantages of Chinese traditional ethics, in order to rebuild China's contemporary ethics and morality.
