As a major component of language, linguistic taboos are an important indicator of language change, which in turn, is a reflection of culture change. The present paper therefore, conducted a diachronic analysis of Chinese and English linguistic taboos used following context rules, with the aim of revealing culture tendency in today's globalized world. The present analysis of the usages of Chinese and English linguistic taboos conditioned by context revealed some feature changes of linguistic taboos in both languages: taboos relating to national culture remain the same, that is taboos indicating unique features of the particular nation are more obvious; social linguistic taboos are shared, that is, people voluntarily try to also abide by the social taboos of their communication partner, which expands the areas of social linguistic taboos; taboos involving academic and government exchanges tended to merge. These changes can serve as indicators of cultural hybridization at this globalization age.
