Zhou Yang And Of Realism Literature Thought

ZhouYang and HuFeng are famous Marxist literary theorists in modern China. They devote themselves to explore realism theory and concern on the development of revolutionary arts,but their understanding to the realism is diffferent. As a long-term leader in culture,ZhouYang basically represents the viewpoint of the dominant position of leadership. HuFeng is a free writer. Although accepting the Party's ideological leadership,he is not bound by the organization and has greater autonomy theoretically. We could say that his realism theory corrects or supplements the dominant theory in certain areas, but he is not understood and suppressed as heresy. After many years, he has been recalled and his theory also obtains the preliminary affirmation. ZhouYang has learned the bitter experiences from the past theoretical viewpoints and leadership style after ten years of calamity, his theoretical difference from HuFeng has been shrinking. Their differences and approval to understnd the realism have reflected the development of realism theory in our country. This article attempts to compare with their realism litreature theories from four parts.Part one:The comparison of realism literary functional views. This part compares realism literary functional views of ZhouYang and HuFeng from three aspects. Such as, literary cognitive function, literary educational function and literary aesthetic function. Part two: The comparison of realism literary truthful views.This part first analyzes the similarities and differences of ZhouYang and HuFeng on understanding the truthfulness and how to write the truthfulness, then disscusses the need on realism eulogination and exposure, and the need on realism romanticism.Part three: The comparison of realism literary typical views. ZhouYang and HuFeng about the typical theory arguments mainly centers on two aspects. One is typical universality and particularity and their mutual relations.Two is the mold of typical image. Finally, this part sums up the significance and limitation of this argument, and exposes the current predicament of typical theory .Part four: The comparison of realism literary critical views. Although the criticism of HuFeng and ZhouYang belongs to the same realism literary criticism, they have completely different shape and style. There are deep reasons such as social background and subject conciousness.
