| This thesis quantifiably analyses the two ditransitive constructions, i.e. double objects construction and dative construction, combining with the usage-based grammar theory and common principles of cognitive linguistics. This thesis is trying to expose the practical used models and explain the functional motivations, moreover, to testify the previous study and give a new approach to some valuable questions. This thesis consists of five chapters.Chapter 1 introduces the main research objection, causes, meaning and aims of this thesis, and indicates the previous study and its problems, i.e. static and introspective theoretical analysis. It needs to be proved by practical used models.Chapter 2 indicates the theory. Based on the usage-based grammar, Construction Grammar, conceptual structure and conceptual appearance, this thesis is trying to research the two ditransitive constructions by the two degrees of quantification and cognitive linguistics. Then, it exhibits the source of corpus and retrieving courses.Chapter 3 thoroughly discusses the detailed retrieving results.Chapter 4, according to the preceding results, points out the requirements whether verbs combining with"Gei"(give) or not; pragmatic aim of dative constructions and markedness of double objects constructions and dative constructions of Modern Chinese.Chapter 5 is conclusion. It states that in modern Chinese, the markedness of double objects constructions is lower than that of dative constructions, and the markedness of"V + Gei"construction is higher than that of V construction. In addition, research on linguistics should also pay attention to practical usage of language structure, not only theoretical analysis. |
