According to the position of "Xiang"-phrase, the author divides"Xiang" in "Ba"-sentence into three groups,â… : " 'Xiang'+N+ 'Ba' +N+V";â…¡: " 'Ba'+N+ 'Xiang'+N+V";â…¢: "V+ 'Xiang'".First, according to the principle of combining form and meaning,description and explanation, the author compares the structures of threesentences. Second, the author divides the verbs into two groups accordingas the verbs can be modified by the location preposition phrases or not,then divides the verbs of direction into displacement direction verbs andnon-displacement direction verbs according as the verbs can be modifiedby tendency complement or "dao"-phrases or not, then basing on theprinciple upwards, compares the category of verbs to discover theresemblance and the difference. Third, according to the same principle,the author compares the objects of "Xiang" from syntax, semantics andpragmatics and descripes the semantic characteristic of "Xiang". At last,the author analyses the restriction of "Xiang"-phrase to "Ba"-phrase,discusses the restriction of the order of "Xiang"-phrase and "Ba"-phrasein the sentence of"Xiang" in "Ba"-sentence.The author plans to describe "Xiang" in "Ba"-sentence from syntax,semantics and pragmatics, and explain something in this text.
