Gabriel·Faure(1845-1924)is an important French composer between 19th and 20th . His piano works has manifested the French style fully which gene is rich, the style is restrain and elegance, and it had lively touches of the key . Five impromptus is a set of small characteristic piano works which were written by Gabriel·Faure ,and its creation has passed through his lifetime . In this set of pieces, Faure has carried on his own music language innovation, we may see the essential technique and the characteristic from them which the composer utilizes.This thesis take the Faure's Five piano impromptus (OP.25, 31, 34, 91, 102) as the object of study, as the background of French culture characteristic and the time characteristic locate which the composer is in , carries on music analysis to these piano works, and discuss the music characteristic, simultaneously, unifies the performance style of French piano music ,and , to share the authors experiences of performance, also have the comprehensively key points in how to play these pieces.
