Erhu is the most representative traditional Chinese bow instrument, and it is also a valuable asset in Chinese national music works. Erhu works has many diverse types, and also is large in quantity, the transplant works occupied a very important position in Chinese Erhu works, because it has a lot of traits. It's appearance is mainly attributed to lacking of Erhu works, the needs of local flavor and style, the development of the Erhu performance techniques, and the international needs. The Erhu transplant works has undergone three historical stages--budding (initial phase), the rise (start-up phase), development and prosperity (maturity). Transplantation works enriched the repertoire of the Erhu, expanded the recital format, and acted a very important role in the Erhu authorship works, Erhu education and the Erhu teaching materials. |
