Baroque music describes an era and a set of styles of European classical music which were in widespread use between approximately 1600 and 1750. One of the most important composers of this time is Johann Sebastian Bach and the features characterizing this era include polyphony, the contrapuntal work, and the dominance of the Binary Form. Piano music of the following Classical music era (1720-1827) has changed a lot from the previous Baroque style. The instrument itself is also coming into acceptance and the composers of this period always follow a certain form. There are 2 major phases of the Classical music era: early Classical period (also known as "late Baroque period") and Vienna classical period. This period is described by three keywords in music history: Rococo, Gallant, and Empfindsamkeit.Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (C.P.E. Bach), the son of Johann Sebastian Bach, is an important musician who promotes the German and Austrian music to the top of world in the European music history during the 18th century. He does not exclude his father's creative conception, but pay more attention to the creativity of improvising. His contribution of establishing the Sonata form and the magnificent, decorative and narrative interpretation of his works becomes the features of next music era. His music career from 1738 to 1788 can be seen as a bridge between Classical period to Baroque period. From the content to its form, the creation of a large number of C.P.E. Bach's keyboard works laid a solid foundation for the three masters Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven's creation of the Classical period. It also extended a space for them to show their talent, therefore to make Vienna become the center of European music.
