Chinese Folk Traditional Handmade Papermaking

This thesis rearranges and analyzes the workmanship of the traditional handmade paper of China from the perspectives of the choice of raw material and corresponding processing workmanship. This thesis focuses on the on-the-spot survey of the handmade paper workmanship of the Jingxian County area of Anhui Province in the way of case study. Beginning with the characteristics of raw material adopted, the process of paper making and the several kinds of major processing instruments used in paper making, this thesis makes a loyal and detailed narration and research on this old handmade workmanship. In addition, this thesis makes surveys and researches on the part of the traditions and newly-developed post-processing workmanship of the handmade paper making of the area of Jingxian County at present, and then explores its future development tendency and application space. This thesis makes corresponding survey and research merely from the perspective of the processing workmanship of the handmade paper making. As to how to combine this Chinese traditional handmade workmanship with modern design to bet(?)er adapt it to the daily life of the common people at present, it will still be a subje(?)t for long-term research owing to the limitation by the research scope and time.
