Discussion Of North Song Period Academy Flowers And Birds

The essentiality of Emperor huizong Zhao Jie's direct participation goes without saying for the development of Academism of Flowers and Birds Painting(AFBP). Emperor huizong made a great contribution for the development of AFBP, but he didn't prevent the Northern Song Dynasty from decline to extinction . The "Xuan He Ti" painting style initiated by Emperor huizong is the peak level in the AFBP fields. In this study, the artistic achievement and features, the construction of the Central Painting Organization, the painting education through imperial college and the creation of AFBP were studied in detail. After the studies above, the "Xuan He Ti"â‘ history was discussed in order to description the spectacular event of AFBP in Emperor huizong period.In the first part of this paper, the life history and art activity of Emperor huizong are introduced. The artistic style of Emperor huizong was reproduced through the study of his exiting works. The artistic style and "Xuan He Ti" painting style were introduced. The formation of "Xuan He Ti" painting style due to the advocation of Emperor huizong. Huizong involving himself directly and promoting make the artistic style(xuanheti) formed,which is correctly and carefully ,which is fit to the physical's artistic aethestic standard,which is graceful ,implied,poetic ,artistic aethestic feeling. That is to say, the formation and development of "Xuan He Ti" painting style have direct connection to the advocate, artistic pursuit and artistic culture of Emperor huizong. The second part of this paper is about the arrangement of Central Painting Organization and the establishment of painting philosophy. Because of the same reason, the system and measure are becoming more and more perfect which makes the painting academy own the greatest painting artists. The studies above were introduced alone which try to describe the real history of AFBP in Emperor huizong dynasty. Some of the artists became mainstay in "Royol of Southern Song Dynasty Painting Academy" after south move which determains the position and influence. In a word, the style of AFBP appeared and became mature which finally reached the peak in Emperor huizong period. This dues to the participation, attention and advocate of Emperor huizong. Under his leader, "Xuan He Ti" painting style not only has the advantages of Songshenzong period, but also has its own style which is his realizing process of artistic pursuit and cuitivation.
