In all the explanatory texts of Mengzi which are preserved today, Zhaoqi's Mengzi Zhangju is the first and intact one. It is also one of the first works on exegesis in Zhangju form which are preserved today. Mengzi Zhangju analyzes Mengzi thoroughly and systematically. Its scholiastic form and methods are very representative. It is not only an important document of the study of Mengzi, but also a significant book in the history of exegesis subject.Taking the exegesis in Mengzi Zhangju as the object to study, this thesis research its scholiastic contents, terms and methods. In this way, this thesis is in an attempt to give a fairly overall description. It also hopes to compensate the study of Mengzi Zhangju and provide a reference to the study of exegesis in Zhangju form and Mengzi subject.The thesis consists of five chapters. The preface gave out a brief introduction to Zhaoqi's life, summary of Mengzi Zhangju and Zhangju form. In the second chapter, the scholiastic contents of Mengzi Zhangju were classified and described. In the third chapter, the quantity and frequency of its scholiastic terms were counted, and the usage of every term were analyzed. In the fourth chapter, the scholiastic methods of Mengzi Zhangju were expounded , which included the methods of explaining words and explaining sentences. The epilogue summarized several main scholiastic characteristics of Mengzi Zhangju from three aspects.
