Located in Central Europe, the Czech Republic is an inland country with small land area, but it's a great nation with long history and traditional culture and arts. It's an industrious and courageous nation with enthusiasm, intelligence, and full of creativity. In the long river of history of the Czech nation and its civilization created in the development and progress, many outstanding authors and works have emerged generation after generation. Their names like the light stars in the night sky are sparkling in the long course of world literature and art. Bo(z|ˇ)ena Němcováis one of the most representative Czech writers. Bo(z|ˇ)ena Němcová(1820-1862) was regarded as the most distinguished writer in the literary history in Czech in 19th century. She was a great woman known as the founder of realism literary. In her short life of 42 years, she left us a lot of marvelous works. This paper mainly studies Bo(z|ˇ)ena Němcová's representative works - Novel《Grandmother》and other literature works. It systematically analyzes and evaluates in depth Bo(z|ˇ)ena Němcováand her works from areas such as the theme, art features and characterization, displaying the pioneering significance that Bo(z|ˇ)ena Němcováand her works made to the Czech nation and literary.
