Liszt's thought of aesthetics of music is the specification of romantic artistic view and philosophy in the field of music. It has distinct characteristics embodied within this time. During the process of discussion on the "content and the form" of music, Liszt has inherited Hegel's thoughts of dual esthetics, stressing that form should serve the content. Music must take the expression of affection as its essence of its artistic value, and this is a basic premise on which the Liszt thought of aesthetics of music is established. He with the aid of the power of literature expands the subjectivity of the feelings to the wide area beyond the absolute music. His various innovations in the form of music are also on the basis of the general need of expanding the width and depth of the expression of affections. As for Liszt, who hopes the world to return back to humanity, not only the promoting of music's being "enriching and purifying people's emotion and awakening their pure minds" but also the turning to religion for pursuing the liberation of souls so as to escape away from difficulties are the expressions of Liszt's aesthetic view. Today in constructing the humanistic society, the study on the positive factors in Liszt's thoughts of aesthetics of music with no doubt has a very important realistic effect on developing China's music education, correcting the wrong belief that emphasizes technique while ignoring art, cultivating innovative talents, developing ethno music.
