"Yi"spirit,the fine point of chinese classical aestheticism,is one of the most important criteria of painting appreciation.The traditional chinese ink_painting embodies illusory vista through "dao","chan", "calligraphy",meantime,The poetic charm melted into "water and color"is much valued by the traditional watercolor painting.Owing to different aestheticism of the eastern and western country,which is derived from their different cultural background,ink_painting and watercolor painting differ in "yi"spirit.The development of chinese watercolor painting should have distinctive qualities of nationality,it should also bases on chinese traditional aestheticism.While the two kinds of painting are very much similar in the medium"water",perfect make_up of water or ink and visual effect of implicity,anima,poetic spirit,we should see the subtle difference between them.Only through this,would chinese watercolor painting have its ethnic qualities.
