Descriptions or records on Luo culture could be seen in Jing, Shi, Zhi, Ji incompletely and fragmentally. However, essential study on Luo culture was just started by the end of Qing Dynasty. Up to date, many contemporary scholars in domestic homeland or from abroad have made systematic studies on Luo culture from different angle of views, and brilliant achievements have been made.The existing study results about Luoyuan Drama in Enshi Tujia Nationality region can be seen in those records or documentations for folklore and art. It is giving us a platform for further study. But from the existing materials, the documentations to study and decode Luoyuan Drama by using traditional Chinese Painting art language are few, and some of them are just partial records. Those are not enough to make an all-sided annotation for Luoyuan Drama in Enshi Tujia Nationality region.This article will attempt to study and decode the art language of Luoyuan Drama in Enshi Tujia Nationality Region of Hubei by means of field investigation and literature study, and some related theories from Traditional Chinese Painting Art are used for reference. Mainly, it will introduce and decode the Luoyuan culture from the characteristic and representation of the drama language.The article is composed of three chapters. In Chapter One, the origin and significance of the subject and general description of related documentations are presented. In chapter Two, the appearance and development of Luoyuan Drama in Enshi Tujia Nationality Region are narrated in a way of ethnography, to make an expatiation for the succedent annotation and study. In Chapter Three, the art language of Luoyuan Drama in Enshi Tujia Nationality Region is read and annotated from the angle of view of traditional Chinese painting.The article considers that Luoyuan Drama in Enshi Tujia Nationality Region has the same characteristics as traditional Chinese painting in the way of the order, appearance and essence, false or true, vigour and lingering charm of representation of the art language. To be more exact, Luoyuan Drama makes use of abstract symbols to show the form. It also portrays the appearance and essence of object by means of point, line and surface. Besides, it arranges the time and place under the principle of "san dian tou shi" and " liu bai", creating the false and true co-exist time and place. And the life and rhythm of vigour and lingering charm is fully represented by using point, line and ink-coloring.In conclusion, the study of the art language of Luoyuan Drama in Enshi Tujia Nationality Region will raise the value of Luoyuan Drama in Enshi Tujia Nationality Region, it will benefit the conservation and succession of Luoyuan Drama in Enshi Tujia Nationality Region and finally it will bring forth fresh new ideas for the future excellent folk culture in Enshi Aotouomous Region.
