Regional Culture is the product of human activity which the people in a specific area create in a long-term production, on the basis of framework of the natural environment. Architecture landscape is the most direct carrier of city regional culture. The appearance of the new social system, new economic order and the new technology means is bound to lead to a new style and form of city construction. Regional architecture landscape transmits the nature of the regional culture and modern characteristics.Qingdao is one of the most famous historical and cultural cities, which is different from Xi'an and Luoyang that have a long history. From "Wuxu reform" to "May 4 Movement", Qingdao is known to all as its modern status in history. Just as what Liangqichao said, Qingdao is a typical colonial museum. Therefore, the colonial culture is the important part of Qingdao regional culture. In addition, as an open coastal city, Qingdao has significant marine cultural identity. It takes in everything, which is more advanced than mainland culture, and mostly contains the human original and sublime. It is full of passion and romance, and is not conservative.Qingdao colonial cultural combines the identities of the colonial culture with the marine culture. So the architecture landscape should positively inherit and innovate on the basis of it to accord with the requirements of the development of the city. We'd better pay more attention to regional and national characteristics than blindly pursuing "foreign" and "West" ,which fully reflects the unique regional culture of Qingdao.According to the characteristic of the coastal terrain whose southern part is higher than the north, I have done a series of studies and exploration concluding cultural coexistence, form, technology, lifestyle , on the access of the design of Qingdao coastal housing district, to inherit and innovate the unique regional culture of Qingdao.
