| Han Fei was a typical representative of the legalism ideology in warring states period. He combined the law, strategy and power of the early warring states period, then established a complete ideological system of law. His law thoughts were theoretical basis for the feudal centralism. Han Fei lived in a frequent unrest war era so that seeking a wise monarch to develop a prosperous and stable country was a necessity of his thoughts. The ideology of wise monarch was benefit to build a socialist monocracy country; even the dross is useful for the accelerating socialism democracy and construction of legal system.This paper will focus on the wise monarch of Han Fei's view and further on what is self cultivation of the wise monarch, the way of controlling ministers and the relation of the monarch and his subjects. Therefore raising a new viewpoint that the wise monarch's two realm: one is active wise monarch and the other is the monarch who achieving Dao for the purpose of deep explore it's limitation so that draw lessons from it at present.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction which including the research value, research situation and the problem will be solved of the master emperor of Han Fei's view.The second part discusses the first stage of the wise monarch of Han Fei's view which is active one who can use law to control the country. From self-cultivation, he practices a kind of climbing stair strategy: he thinks that we should not only adopt new measure and take lessons from former monarchs but also pay attention to the trivia and a stitch in time save nine. In the aspect of the relation between the monarch and the ministers, the wise monarch practices a kind of planning trees strategy which not only limits those ministers' power and takes some protection measures but also collects the suggestion extensively and verifies them. On the basis of respecting the monarch, laying stress on man is very important. Form above aspects, we can draw the conclusion that the wise monarch gives an advantage impact on the future generations in this stage.The third part deals with the wise monarch who achieves Dao in the second level. This section discusses how a monarch achieves Dao, how to deal with the relationship between he and his subjects and defining the wise monarch of Han Fei's view. The wise monarch can control his subjects comparing with the first stage. He uses draconian law and rewards and punishments to master the ministers. The wise monarch adopts conspiracy strategy instead of sunny strategy, which makes the ministers scared of the monarch. In generally, the wise monarch is the criticizing object in this period. The fourth part discusses the positive significance and the main defects of Han Fei's thoughts. Firstly, the positive significance of his thoughts, especially the theory of combining the law, strategy and power and other opinions are discussed. Secondly, the main defects of the wise monarch who achieves Dao: being the God and stressing the popular, but not gaining the support of the people.The fifth part is the conclusion which sums up the cognition of the master emperor of Han Fei's view and further stresses that the idea of master emperor both based on and summarized the previous Law thinking. |
