Felix·Mendelssohn(1809——1847) was filled with admiration to Bach's personality,and he applied himself to study Bach's organ music,bend himself to research Bach's composition technique and their forms.He wrote "six Preludes and Fugues (op.35) " for piano and"three Preludes and Fugues(op.37)"for organ which unabashedly after Bach.Mendelssohn lived at the time of romanticism that harmphony was the mainly music form.Seldom did the academe pay attention to the polyphony music at that time,so, the research on Mendelssohn's composition is quitely insufficient.Because of this,some music theoretics books only did a superficial description about him.Even they deemed that Mendelssohn's fugues were a copy to Bach's music which throughly distorted his composition intention,effaced his personality and characteristics.Accordind to the data the author have collected we can make sure that Mendelssohn's "Preludes and fugues" were for the sake of the inspiritional revival of Bach's Welltempered Klavier,but he inherited and developed Bach's style in his own way.This dissertation is a survey and study of Mendelssohn's Fugue music,including the structure and the techniques.In order to let us know the tractility that Mendelssohn's music gave the effect to the later 19th century and 20th century,clarify the partial viewpoints.And also provide some theoretics gists to the construction and development of our country's polyphony music,promote our music composition practice.
