As is well known,China and Japan are close neighbors, and their communication could trace back to thousands of years ago, with "Tang ambassador" and "Sui ambassador" as best proof.Consequently, language is one of the most important media.By carefully studying Chinese characters,Japanese mastered some vocabulary-building rules, they imported many original Chinese words, created many new words, and they also invented Kana. However,Japanese words began to export to china hundreds of years later. The first high tide happened in late 19th century and early 20th century.During that period,a large number of Japanese-loaned words flowed in,quickly merged in to Chinese. These words became parts of Chinese and influenced Chinese substantially.Since the normalization of China-Japan diplomatic relations, especially after China's reform and opening-up in 1978,the two countries' intercourse increased sharply in various aspects, such as economy, culture, education, etc.Accordingly, Chinese and Japanese came in to close contact with each other.Lots of Japanese-loaned words appeared in Chinese words, which is another high tide of the influx of Japanese-loaned words.Through arranging and analyzing the Japanese-loaned words of the new Chinese vocabulary after the reform and opening-up,this essay try to summarize the features of Japanese loaned-words from 3 perspectives:methods, diversification of meanings and distribution.Besides that, motivation, major reasons, and characteristics of the loaning will also be analyzed.
