Gender is one of the basic labels in human society. Gender role means exceptions and criteria society respectively gives to male and female behavior, various particularities, actions and interests included. In recent years, discussing college student's ideal personality model from the perspective of gender role type has been hot in terms of researching personality education about college students. In my research, on the basis of Bem Sex Role Inventory, 657 college students from 4 universities in Chengdu, who take the test by completing CSRI and self-acceptance test inventory that are chiefly edited by Qian Mingyi from Department of Psychology, PKU, are divided into four types: the masculine, the feminine, androgyny and the undifferentiated, according to different combinations of typical male and female particularities, in order to discuss the relationship between college gender role type and self-acceptance latitude. Besides, the main discussion about the androgyny not only offers material for the research of gender role and education of college student's personality as well as mental health, but also enriches the theory of researching the relationship between college students'gender role type and their self-acceptance. The results of research are as follows:(1) Male positive temperament and female negative temperament stand on the same dimension, but they respectively lie on either pole of the dimension; and female positive temperament and male negative temperament stand on the same dimension, but they also respectively lie on either pole.(2) The number of the undifferentiated is the largest among 4 types of gender role, the number of androgyny being the second largest, then that of the female third largest and the male smallest.(3) The types of the gender role of college students are obviously affected by which grades college students are in. But they have nothing to do with a college student's sex, source place, major and whether he or she is only one child in his or her family.(4) The degree of self-acceptance that the students of androgyny show in various aspects is higher. The research done in the thesis further supports the judgment that the type of androgyny is the ideal gender role type.
