Modern Chinese "x X" Format Research

"Shuo X jiu X"form is one of the forms commonly used in modern Chinese, it is composed by verb"shuo"and adverb"jiu"that followed the same words. At present, the research results of"shuo X jiu X"are very few. This paper, guided by the theory of"three planes"and based on previous researches, studies internal constitution, syntactic functions, semantic relations, pragmatic value as well as the format diachronic development and causing on the analysis of massive languages material.In the internal constitution, the paper analyzes the fixed component"shuo","jiu"and the variable part of the"X"."shuo"has both real meaning and grammatical meaning;"jiu"is an adverb, has the important influence to the form meaning."X"is more complex, the words in the X's position can be divided into the predicate word which has seven kinds and the subject word or phrase which has four kinds according to function type. At the same time, the paper also analyzes X's asymmetric phenomenon and syllable restriction.In the syntactic function,"shuo X jiu X"form is generally able to act as variety of syntactic components, but also can act as a clause of complex sentence and be a separate sentence. In addition, the paper also analyzes its syntactic features.In the semantic relations, the paper analyzes its the internal semantics, the exterior semantics and the semantics when the form are used together. Its internal semantics are more complicated, it can be divided into two categories according to"shuo X"and"jiu X"to point to the consistency. Its exterior semantics can be expressed general explanations, conclusions or results of evaluation, sum up. Its semantics when it used in combination express parallel semantics, the semantic degree's deepening, semantic symmetry.In the pragmatic value, the paper analyzes the form's pragmatics and points out that it expresses the determination, determine, consent, and the uncertainty of pragmatics.The paper also analyzes"shuo X jiu X"form's pragmatic features, that have spoken of their darker color, highlight the sentence focus and cohesive.In the diachronic development, the paper analyzes"shuo X jiu X"form's developmemt in the history , points out it appeared at least in the Yuan Dynasty and discusses its causing to form initially.
