New Meanings Of Old Words In New Media In The Context Of Research

Word meaning is always in a process of change just like our ever-changing era. As the new elements of the meanings, Old Words with new meanings have shown a number of new features under the new media context. In this paper, we try on the current context of new media under the old words new meaning to the phenomenon of a comprehensive and detailed study, which is based on the historic analysis and large corpus, and combined with linguistics, communication science, sociology and other related theories, in order to provide some useful reference for the study of Old Words with new Meanings.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part is mainly a brief analysis and summary of recent academic research in the Old Words with new Meanings. a new achievements in the field, but also point out the shortcomings of current research, as well as aspects need to be improved. Also, in this part includes the scope of this paper, corpus selection, and research ideas and methods are introduced.The second part mainly discusses the generating process of the Old Words with New Meanings under the new media Context.First of all,we research the general characteristics of the Old Words with New Meanings, using some linguistics and communication science theories, and find the relationship between the new media and the creation of the new meanings; Secondly, it gets the specific reasons of the new meanings generated from the horizon of language in the world, the object in the world and the main world's which are three in-depth explanation of our society, based on the combination of sociolinguistics and cognitive linguistics theories. Again, drawing on some new ideas of semantic evolution of the study, we do some further comprehensive analysis of the creation of new meaning from two ways,which are the context of the new meaning generation and cross-fertilization one.The third part examines the dynamic use of the process, characteristics, and its expression results of Old Words with New Meanings under the new media. This part is from a combination of point both the total time and duration. First of all, it gives an overview of the analysis general description and classification, from the synchronic point of view to observe; Secondly with a dynamic view of language as a guide, through the contrast of use between the new and old meaning, it examines the use of duration changes of old words new meaning in the context of the new media. On the basis of the analysis and comparison, it further summed up characteristics and fresh expression of results of the new meanings in the context of the new media.The forth part research on the use of the new state and its various aspects of the new meanings,meanwhile put forward some regulatory issues for the new meanings. It mainly from the positive side and negative side to study the impact on the current social life. According to its effect,it represents the need of new concepts and norms, normative principles of a specific elucidate.Conclusion part is the fifth part,which mainly summarizes the study in this paper, including the starting point, as well as the general idea of the work done, and future research is suggested.Overall, this paper adopts a more scientific research methods, using a variety of theories in the Context of new media to get a more in-depth and thorough analysis for the phenomenon of Old Words with New Meaning, While as Old Words with New Meaning is particularly a phenomenon of specificity and complexity, it also needs to be further in-depth study.
