1840 Opium War, Britain's firm ship opened the Qing government's door. Henceforth, modern China entered the stage filled with humiliation and revolt. The Chinese people who advanced at that time, began to find the truth from the West to save the country. As the first person who introduced the western culture to China, Yan Fu's new thought have brought the new dawn to people. Yan Fu's contributions was not only lay in his translations to a large number of western books, more importantly, comparing with the western culture, he found that there were many shortcomings in China's traditional morality. And from criticizing these shortcomings, he proposed his moral view to meet the requirements of modern society. The article wants to reveal the reconstruction of morality of Yan Fu by researching of Yan Fu's writings and translations. And then discussion the modern significance of Yan Fu's thinking.
