This paper attempts to study the traditional Chinese designs such as formal beauty and symbolic implication of the inquiry. Further, the paper aimed to explain its use in contemporary mural of the role and the status, looking for its mural art and contemporary meeting point, and raise awareness of traditional Chinese thinking and re-understanding of art.Chinese traditional design consisting of its kaleidoscope of shape the form and Meaningful, significant symbol of charm, and the people showing a mysterious, majestic, fantastic imagery of the world, communicate with wild excitement, ethereal quiet emotional experience, is the essence of Chinese art. And modern paintings as a continuation of ancient Chinese painting styles and development of the national financial inject more aesthetic characteristics and contemporary feeling, but also for the traditional pattern of this art style to show off their own stage. During this period, outstanding works of contemporary paintings can be described as endless, highlighting the aesthetic of modern society, customs, characteristics of the times and national styles.However, are traditional patterns in contemporary mural of the situation really perfect? If not, what are the reasons for the problems and what are they? How to be a reasonable use and development? Do we need to open up a new way of thinking? Faced with all these issues, as the successor to the Chinese murals, science should assume the history of the mission and social responsibility, even obligation to this era of unparalleled charm of traditional arts presented to the modern masses. Art is always inseparable from the heritage and development, how to strengthen the traditional pattern of such folk schemata in the vitality of the contemporary paintings, but we need more thinking.
