Dealing with the two artists, Friedrich, C. D. and Kaii Higashiyama, this paper tries to answer two main questions: Why can they share the common painting conception that"Scenery in a painting is used to convey images in a painter's mind", although they possess no related life experiences? Why can they express their common conception above in the visual language of tremendously different styles? It is hoped that the answers to the two questions can inspire one to constantly reflect upon oneself in our artistic creation upon and find the right visual language to for the purpose of expressing our conceptions and aesthetic ideas. |
