Product Structure And Configuration Management Technology Research And System Development

With the demand for product variety and product individuation growing rapidly, it is required to design the product structure based on product family, and to manage and control product information and process efficiently during designing a product. However, serialization oriented product design improves the management complexity of product information, and defects such as data inconsistency and inefficiency arise according to manual management. Product Data Management can manage product information effectively and resolve problems of Information Island and so on. This paper introduces the concept and architecture of Product Data Management, and discusses the Product Structure and Configuration Management as the most important module of PDM. Also it analyses differences between Product Structure Management in PDM and traditional Product Structure Management. Based on Object Oriented Modeling and analysis of the Product Structure and Configuration Management object, Product Variant Structure model is built and Variant Configuration Management technology is introduced. At last, this paper brings out the module of Product Structure and Configuration Management of PDM in Aeronautics Astronautics Developing Electronic Information Integration Corporation.
