Driven by the tendency of economy globalization, the market environment is being more and more complex. The competition is increasingly vehement, and the requirements of customer are upgrading. Faced with such situation, enterprises must continuously innovate to meet the emergency. Single or some facets of innovation branches advocated by enterprises in the past have not fit their need for healthy growth. Now they should adopt one notion about innovation which can rule all-sides, that is, market innovation. After modifying the concept of market in the innovation domain, the author puts forward that market innovation is an process where enterprises create new combination of "product-customer". Then the paper discusses it from two aspects, the mechanism and performance evaluation of market innovation. When talking about the mechanism, the paper deeply probes into the categories of the main parts of market innovation and its behaviors. Then it discusses the tasks enterprises should finish along with their market innovation from the perspectives of enterprises and customer. While about performance evaluation, the author thinks that enterprises should consider financial and non-financial indices when they construct the system of performance evaluation of market innovation. Finally, he designs questionnaire, collecting useful data. And then abstracts some felicitous non-financial indices by utilizing SPSS and statistical analysis.
