This dissertation overall and systematic analyses and studiesexternal-trade of certain region in a nation by adoption of disciplines andmethod such as international trade geography, international economics,international trade, economic geography, regional economic geography andsystematic theory, etc. under the background of internal and external tradeintegrated, furthermore point out that the intact meaning of external-trade ofan area includes two respects of outer-regional trade and outer-nationaltrade, different regions in the course of developing its external trade, thepreferential or the strategic emphasis choice What has been made betweenouter-regional trade and outer-national trade, is named the route choice ofexternal trade, then take Jilin Province as the case, carry on the positiveresearch to route choice of the external trade of Jilin Province, point out theprinciple , region structure and development mechanism of its externaltrade development in the future, the frame of the dissertation as following: Chapter 1 is the overall studying of regional external trade, throughcompared with foreign trade of a country with external trade of a region,give out the concept of external trade correspond with inter-regional tradeof a region and compare international trade and inter-regional trade. Chapter 2 mainly discuss the relevant problem of the route choice ofexternal trade, including two parts ,one is theoretical question study and theother is instance analysis, as a new concept which is put forward by thisdissertation, the study on this concept is on the basis of chapter 1, the routechoice of external trade means preferential or the strategic emphasis choicewhich is made between the developing of outer-regional trade andouter-national trade , The theoretical question includes the meaning ofexternal trade route choice and main relevant theories, the instance analysismainly introduces the instance in domestic and international, which at thesame time prove that there are route choice in the external trade　 ï¼'　development too. Chapter 3 and chapter 4 is the main body of this dissertation, mainlycompare the environmental condition of Jilin Province's external traderoute choice and the current situation of the development of external trade,combining the two chapter is the important basis to analyse Jilin Province'sroute choice of external trade. Chapter 5 on the basis of summarizing chapter 3 and the chapter 4,apply SWOT analysis to make the choice of Jilin Province's developmentroute of external trade, then put forward the basic principle, region structureand corresponding mechanism which should be followed in external tradedevelopment of Jilin Province in the future.
