| After China entering the WTO, the trend of incorporation of domestic market and international market is increasingly outstanding. Internationalization and globalization of resource markets like coal, ore, steel, grain and so on has been speeding up the flow of direction and flux of various dry bulk cargoes between domestic and international markets. The adjustment of original structure of ocean shipping, coastal shipping, and river shipping among our country's shipping groups makes more and more vessels with China flag sail between ocean, coastal and river markets. The connection between domestic coastal dry bulk transportation and international dry bulk transportation is also therefore tighter and tighter.In accordance with the trend of marketability, internationalization, urbanization, informationization and industrialization of Chinese economic development, as well as diversification of investors, coastal dry bulk transportation market also shows some similar features and trends. By researching on these new trends and features, enterprises can stand firm in the fierce competition. China Shipping Development co. ltd. Tramp co. (Here in after abbreviated as China Shipping Tramp) has obtained some compelling achievements in dry bulk transportation, however, its traditional advantage is mainly in domestic coastal transportation, and its has to face problems such as how to adapt to the change of outside environment, how to exert the advantages and avoid disadvantages, and how to cope with the increasingly fierce competition and keep and expand the market share. I myself have working experience of more than ten years in dry bulk transportation, and now am assuming leading office position in China Shipping Tramp and Guangzhou Maritime. I deeply feel that a business manager should have ability of judging in advance, and accordingly put forward definite development strategy and target for the company. This dissertation is trying to employ the theory and knowledge learnt during my studying master degree in Shanghai Maritime University to exploit and solve the problem of further development for China Shipping Tramp, i.e. the problem of strategic direction of dry bulk transportation, and then direct the choice of concerned vessel type, competition tactics, target of information and so on.Facing the constantly variation market situation, the dissertation put forward the thinking and suggestions for development strategy and competition tactics for China Shipping Tramp in five years, especially suggestions on the aspects of tonnage expansion, large-size of vessels, information of enterprise and competition tactics.Preface of Chapter One of the thesis brings forth the problems now China Shipping Tramp is facing, problems that this dissertation is to solve and the significance of the solution. Chapter Two will introduce the present conditions of China Shipping Tramp and the existing problems, and then analyze why these problems occurred. Chapter Three will analyze the current development situation and trend of domestic and international dry bulk transportation markets and research on the connection between coastal transportation market and ocean transportation market, then analyze the demand of coastal dry bulk transportation. Chapter Four will analyze the competition in coastal dry bulk transportation market, mainly on competitors between industries and in this industry, outside environment of the market competition, and then sum up the new features of the market competition. Chapter Five will analyze the business of China Shipping Tramp by SWOT, and construct strategic development frame for China Shipping Tramp, and bring forth strategic suggestions on tonnage development, marketing and sales, human resources, information construction, and vessel supervision system as well as the action plan for fulfilling these strategies, i.e..
