On The Thought Of The People Of The Feudal Rule Of Law In China

The thought of regarding people as foundation had an important position in the Chinese feudal legal system. It originated in Chunqiu and Zhanguo period, developed in the Han and Tang Dynasty, and perfected in the late Ming Dynasty. Thinkers, politicians and wise kings in history had been giving new meanings to it. It was embodied in the guidelines of feudal legal system, melted into the law, glorifying the legal spirit of regarding people as foundation and fostering the historical development. But it was still enforced in the range of monarchism serving the ruling class. The celebration of the thought today is a breakthrough. Therefore, by reflecting on history we can prevent repeating the same mistakes, clear the history blocks, perfect legal concept, respect human rights and offer historical reference for the current legal system that regard people as foundation.
